Organisation profile

The research group investigates the role and significance of sciences and technologies in the modern world. We ask how these have contributed to today's society and created opportunities as well as problems. A deeper understanding of this is interesting not only in relation to the sciences and technologies themselves, but also from a broader democratic perspective. It is no longer possible to understand our societies without considering and making visible the influence of sciences and technologies.

The group belongs to the broader national and international research environment in Science Studies and STS. A special characteristic  of the group is the interest in the interaction between sciences, technologies, and society as well as a broad definition of science and technology that includes not only the natural and technical, but also the human and cultural sciences.

The group includes members from different parts of Roskilde University as well as from other cultural, research, and educational institutions in Denmark. If you are interested in collaborating, participating in our meetings and events, or becoming a member of the group, you are always welcome to contact us.

The research group leader and contact person is Kasper Risbjerg Eskildsen
