Research group on Management and Organization

Research focus of the group: The research group focus on research in management, leadership and organizing processes in companies and organizations, including business enterprises, professional, voluntary and public organizations and fluid networks. The scholars work across various disciplines as they examine themes that are of importance for companies and organizations of all shapes and sizes, including organization; leadership; CSR and legitimacy; sustainability, philosophy of management; strategy; HRM; project management and digitalization, technology and organizational change.

Key research fields: Leadership, sustainability, sustainable development goals, organization theory, organizational change, human resource management, project management, digitalization, CSR and legitimacy, strategy, accounting and finance.

Ambitions of the group: The group aims to contribute to the study of management, leadership and organization at an international level and to make sure, that the broad field of subjects in the business programs are covered by active research and researchers.

Publications and members of the group: The research group has 20 registered members and more than 400 registered publications since its establishment in 2015.

How the group intends to support and promote research: The research group organizes regular joint activities, such as: Organizing work-in-progress sessions throughout the year, organizing writing retreats, facilitating joint applications for funding, organizing seminars, workshops and conferences as well as publishing anthologies. Moreover, the research group in more narrow settings facilitates more intensive feedback processes for members writing papers or books for publishing.

Organization of the research group: The research group is organized around research teams and research project. These research teams are focusing on particular areas of research within the field of management and organization.

Research focus: Critical Business & Sustainability Research: critical study of business in a global context in relation to sustainability, ethics, legitimacy, systems theory and organizational systems; study of human resource management, project management, organizational change, technology in organization (e.g. AI, robots and health care technology); leadership, organization and sustainability in local environment (e.g. Greenland and countries with limit statehood); research on ESG and sustainability-reporting in finance and accounting; Management, organization and public leadership (e.g. political Leadership, administration ethics, organization and management of political communication).
