    Based on a researchproject "redefining Comparative Education in an Age of Globalisation" the lecture introduces to different traditions of ethnography in the field of critical youth and school research. Discussing the implications globalization has for the study of youth and education, I conclude suggesting a new research programme meeting the global challenge.
