Description

In this symposium we address artistic practice as an agent for transformation and emancipation. The symposium includes workshops, interventions, presentations, performances and experiments that engage and depart from ideas and concepts involved in ethics of care giving, trust and and power to promote individual and social transformation. Ideas related to guest / host are explored through the concept of generosity, value of language, multicultural practices, socially engaged artistic practise and differing knowledge systems, healing and integration.

The proposals engage and depart from ideas and concepts surrounding, but not limited to:
- De-colonial artistic practises
- Artistic practices which promote mental health and social cooperation, as well as by providing inclusive learning opportunities.
- Artistic practise directed to community-healing and integration
- Healing gender roles and stereotypes
- Artistic research surrounding the idea of healing and the arts
- Art as emancipation
