In this presentation I will explore how the planetary turn in social sciences and humanities potentially pave the way for local initiatives engaging with social and environmental justice, diversity and equity for both human and more-than humans. Departing from a concern for sustainability and arriving at a concern for habitability as formulated by Dipesh Chakrabarty, the presentation will give examples from regenerative agriculture, urban gardens and cultural-place making across Copenhagen and Sao Paulo region. Inviting the audience to share their local knowledges and hopes for a just planetary future, the presentation will examine perspectives for an ecological transition.
