The audience is reminded that globalization is not something new, but a process that had already started when the first national museums were established during the 19th century. The lecture continues with a consideration of the possibilities museums in a world that not only gets more and more global, but also more and more digitalized. The lecture closes with a greeting to the Dansh National Museum at its 200 years anniversary in the form of a quotation of a description of a visit to the museum in 1839 by a French young lady (Léonie d'Aunet).
