This conference is dedicated to sharing the key findings of our 5-year, international and multi-disciplinary AHRC-GCRF project, which explores the connections between social policy, social welfare and the promotion of human security in the MENA region. The event will bring together researchers, policymakers, civil society representatives and other stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue, share research outputs and best practices and foster collaboration. The conference will showcase the cutting edge research of over 30 individual research projects spanning a wide range of critical issues including, the social and economic drivers of violence and conflict, the impact of climate change on human security, the role of everyday forms of community-based peace, the importance of social inclusion for vulnerable groups including female-headed households, informal workers, refugees, people with disabilities and youth.
The MENASP-CP Network Project is led by the MENASP Network (University of Birmingham) in partnership with the Overseas Development Institute (ODI), the Universtity of Bath and our international partners. It is funded by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council’s Global Challenges Research Fund.
