Social and Environmental Justice and how it matters in Performative Urbanism

Activity: Talk or presentationLecture and oral contribution

Description

the presentation argues that urban ecologies are shaped by historical and often repressed socio-material formations. By enacting these ecologies in collaboration we can support social and environmental justice claims and make them matter as urban commons and communities. The presentation gives examples from the Performative Urbanism Lab and how we have worked with arts-based methods and commoning practices in urban post-industrial wastelands, urban gardens and other urban nature landscapes.
