The Series on Middle Eastern Policy and EU Relations was introduced by ECPR as part of its response to concerns raised within the community in the wake of the conflict in Gaza, and the challenges to academic freedom faced by scholars and students affected by the war.
The new series seeks to foster an informed, nuanced understanding of the cultural, economic, and political dynamics of Middle Eastern communities, and their relationships with each other and the world – while providing a platform for balanced and meaningful discourse.
Convened by Assem Dandashly, Maastricht University and Christos Kourtelis, Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, the series is designed to harness the full breadth of ECPR’s portfolio, featuring expert contributions across a variety of platforms, including events and publications.
A central feature of the series is a line-up of FREE webinars that bring together experts in Middle East policies and EU external relations. The discussions will explore the complex dynamics shaping the MENA region, tackling topics from diplomatic strategies to economic partnerships and security challenges.
