Description
The research network has a goal of mapping the developments in the 3D Internet and contributing with empirical research.NVWN is funded by NICe (the Nordic Innovationcenter) for a 2 year period and has perspectives on innovation and entrepreneurship.
Members of NVWN are from all of the Nordic countries and have common interests but different theoretical perspectives.
The 3D internet is currently known mostly for commerical virtual worlds and games, but includes experiments with simulation, staff training og activities in the visual arts, architecture, film etc.
My work in the network relates more broadly to studying entrepreneurship and alterations in the media landscape, such as the rise of amateurs taking up filmmaking or multimedia production practices. I collate this with related creative practices. This again has implications for the creative industries.
