In this seminar, Kenneth Bo Nielsen, University of Oslo and Somdeep Sen, Roskilde University will discuss some of the most contentious issues concerning the Indian elections.They will cover issues of Hindu Nationalism, India as a global power, Environmental issues in the world’s most populous country, and a range of other topics.
Kenneth Bo Nielsen is the author and editor of numerous books and articles on Indian politics. E.g. Authoritarian Populism and Bovine Political Economy in Modi’s India 2024 (With Josein Jakobsen) and Indian Democracy: Origins, Trajectories, Contestations 2019 (with Alf Gunvald Nilsen & Anand Vaidya)
Somdeep Sen is regular columnist for Al Jazeera where he has written on Indian politics and Indian Diaspora politics. He is currently engaged in two research projects focusing on India: India’s Smart City vision under President Mohdi, and Disaster management and Urban resettlement.
