Description
“The concept of degrowth is used by scholars and activists arguing for the need to significantly reduce the matter and energy throughput of the rich countries. Much focus has been devoted to various policies and initiatives in business and civil society that can bring about degrowth societies. Yet, degrowth can only happen if it is welcomed internally by humans and manifested in their everyday practices: individual self-transformation is a prerequisite for degrowth. In this talk, Iana Nesterova and Hubert Buch-Hansen (Roskilde University), outline their perspective on degrowth and reflect on how such self-transformation can come about.”
