Activity: Talk or presentation › Lecture and oral contribution
Description
Both research and policy-making in international relations can be influenced, whether intentionally or unintentionally by racialized and colonial ideas. The January 2022 issue of International Affairs explores this very issue.
In this webinar, contributors to the issue will discuss how racialized and colonial ideas have impacted communities in the Middle East and South Asia, including women in the Afghan peace process. They will also examine Western policies towards the regions, including during the Arab Spring uprisings, and in the Israel-Palestine conflict. However, race and colonialism have not only impacted lives and policy decisions, but also the very foundations of what we understand as a border, nation or region today.
