Description
WE, ASYLUM SEEKERS FORCED TO LIVE IN SJÆLSMARK DEPORTATION CAMP CALL ON ORGANIZATIONS AND PEOPLE FOR SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT.We, asylum seekers forced to live in Sjælsmark (a deportation camp), demand an end to the brutal and inhumane living conditions to which we are subjected without our consent. Over the last weeks, we have started to organize to fight for our rights.
With the support of Freedom of Movements, Bolsjefabrikken, The Bridge Radio, and No Borders, we will lead a demonstration on Tuesday 26th. This demonstration will be the start of different actions that will take place during this month. The objective is to break the silence and change the conditions to which we are confronted.
List of our Demands:
1. We demand not to be transferred by force to Ikast, a prison in Jylland.
2. We are not criminals. We demand that the the Danish Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalforsorgen) is not in charge of our lives.
3. We demand The end of forced deportations, whether secret or public. We are refugees, our countries are at war.
4. We demand the right to work.
5. We demand housing adequate. We don't even have hot water.
6. We demand the right to medicine and treatment that meets our needs.
7. We demand asylum in Denmark.
9. We demand accountabiity from authories. Who can we ask about our cases? How long do we have to wait in Sjælsmark?
10. We demand an end to "motivationsfremmende foranstaltninger". The policies that aim to "motivate" us to leave through dehumanizing and humilliating us.
11. We demand freedom of movement and freedom to stay. In short, we demand the right to have rights!
12. Finally, we demand the abolition of camps like Sjælsmark
