In this project, we engage with the forces leading to the social and spatial fragmentation of the city of Lagos, Nigeria and the role of the creation of their new ecocity/mega project, Eko Atlantic. What started as a land reclamation project is now part of the movement to be a world city in order to place Lagos on the map. We explore how entrepreneurial governance, worlding city practices, and speculative urbanism have led to splintering urbanism in Lagos. We further investigate the effects of the splintering of Lagos caused by Eko Atlantic and conclude that environmental injustice is an occurrence and that Eko Atlantic is perpetuating a climate apartheid in Lagos, Nigeria.
