Ann-Sofie Hultquist Hansen & Rosemary Browne

Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

In the past few years we have begun to see the extent to which waste has an impact on the environment. The Municipality of Copenhagen has therefore implemented a new waste management plan in order to minimise the CO2 emission in the area. It is in this paper investigated how the newly implemented affects the inhabitants of Copenhagen and how the municipality can opt people to act according to this system. With comparison to the Municipality of Frederiksberg the potential of percentage of waste sorted is investigated. It is furthermore investigated who and why people do not sort and whether or not people have and feel like they have enough information to conform with the new acts of sorting and recycling. In the end new ideas for investigations are proposed as prior unknown facts is shown through the analysis. This is in particular the value of monetary incentives to get people to recycle such as the 'Dansk Pant' system in Denmark.
