Studenteropgave: Fagmodulprojekt

This paper aims to specify what puts a Virtual Reality (VR)-user in the psychological state of “Presence”. Using the iterative prototyping method we have designed and created a First-person-shooter game, which seeks to put its players in the presence-state. The prototype was tested by a chosen specific audience, which evaluated it using a survey and thinking-out-loud method related to the implemented theory.
The prototype was partly successful in incorporating the Immersion elements, successful in the choice of UI and lastly in avoiding VR-related problems and challenges. It is however not known whether it succeeded in creating presence in its users due to a lacking measurement tool thereof.
