We have all have all had the established experience of going to the movie theater. Furthermore, most young people have experienced the coziness and joy of an old-fashioned movie-night, where you meet up with buddies at a friend’s house. However, when going to the movie-theater you do not get to experience the same kind of social interaction and intimacy that you do when you are in a more homely environment. This project investigates the potential of combining the cozy atmosphere of a movie-night with the qualities that is normally associated with traditional conventions of a movie-theater. In order answer our problem definition, which reads - How do you define and design an experience that establishes a narrative about the identity of Valby Kino? – we will examine how an experience can be designed in a way that maintains the integrity of Valby Kino but at the same time attracts more costumers and builds revenue. In our endeavors to achieve this goal we have arranged a movie-night of the old-fashioned kind, however we have moved it from the comforts of your friends home to the capable and inclusive locale of Valby Kino. This led us to investigate what an experience is and how it affects the individual. From this we have concluded that the psychological processes that the individual undergo define an experience.
