Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

The purpose of this project is to analyse the social movement EZLN regarding their use of identity and whether they have managed to have some influence on the Mexican political structure. EZLN is in many ways a different social movement, which separates them from other movements worldwide because of their non-violent ways of operating. EZLN’s purpose is not to overthrow the government but to preserve some fundamental right regarding the indigenous people living in Mexico. EZLN’s clever use of historical symbolism, the network society and participation for indigenous people in political matters have all made EZLN play a prominent part in the Mexican society.
