Abstrakt

This study shows that there is a difference in how the four newspapers Politiken, Berlingske, Lolland-Falsters Folketidende and JydskeVestkysten frames the word “Udkantsdanmark”. The difference in positive or negative framing does not depend on which part of the country the newspaper is from, though which exact frame, does in some part depend on this. The two national newspapers Politiken and Berlingske focus on the economic aspect as a sign of success which is not only the case for the two others. The study also discusses which consequences the framing of “Udkantsdanmark” has, and it goes to show that there can be some negative consequences because of the media's influence in modern society.
