Abstrakt

This research project investigates the economic rationale of President Donald Trump. The project discusses whether the President’s economic rationale is consistent or not with his policies. The research project has been conducted through a set of academic literature and Trump’s political speeches. The empirical findings for this study has been a variety of reliable academic journals, books, and articles. The first part of this study consists of the selected established economic paradigms along with their rationale. The second part of this study consists of the main approaches of Trump’s economic policies, namely Trumponomics. This will be followed by our own interpretation of Trumponomics economic rationale and how Trump’s policies have affected the economy of The United States. The third, and last, part of this study covers the relations between Trump and certain industries in the United States in order to see if there exists any crony relationships and whether it might have had any influence on his policies. This project showcases that the economic rationale of Trump’s policies are inconsistent and that crony relationships may have had an influence in his political approaches.
