This project, ”Congestion in the Capital Region”, tries to shed light, on some of the difficulties surrounding the massive increase in congestion, the Capital Region, has seen over the past few decades. More specifically, the project`s aim is to investigate which barriers there has been, both on the political- and planning front, in the efforts to solve this issue. “Congestion in the Capital Region” processes different cases concerning this topic, by using relevant theories. Although the many examples shown in the project were conducted at different points of time, some as early as 1997, the project’s main focus, is the period from 2007 and up until now, due to the major structural changes, made by the Danish government, the 1st of January 2007, with “Structure reform”. The project concludes that there has been, and still are several barriers concerning this topic, and that changes needs to be made, in order to break down these barriers.
