This paper addresses the problem regarding the way we live, our increasing need for psychical space and the enormous resource requirements our current housing situation has. There is a need to evaluate the way we live and maybe look for innovations and alternatives that can help solve some of the negative environmental impact from the way we live. Therefore, this project will examine:
To what extent is it possible for Tiny Houses to have an effect on the sustainable challenges that arise from the Danish housing sector?
The report gives an insight in the Tiny House phenomena and together with the empirical evidence with the help of Frank Geels theory about Multi Level Perspective the thesis statement has been examined.
The paper concludes that the Tiny House Movement has some very good intentions and that there is a big possibility for the alternative lifestyle to make a positive difference regarding the negative environmental impact from our housing sector. However, the movement struggles both internally and externally and especially legislations is a big challenge. Right now the Tiny House Movement does not make a very big difference, many issues has to be solved before the good intentions can be put to good use.
