Studenteropgave: Basisprojekt

Our project focuses on the creation of social trust within the semi-private space of a karré apartment’s courtyard and how this trust can spread into the wider social context of the urban space. To be able to do this we have chosen to conduct an in-depth analysis of one karré in Nørrebro and the streets that surround it. This focus allows us use ethnographic methods such as observations, unstructured interviews and photo analysis which we have combined with our own interpretations and theoretical perspectives. We conclude that there is a high quality of life within the karré for families, yet that those who do not fit into the homogeneous majority tend to feel the opposite. With these findings, we have then entered the discussion of gated communities and their effects on social trust and how the processes of creating social trust in our case might be furtherly researched. In our project, we chose a social constructivist approach.
