Fear is a part of the everyday life. For that reason, we have chosen to examine how to measure and simulate fear in a multi-sensorical installment. This is meant to be a preliminary examination for a larger project, which is meant to examine how to teach people, 15 years and older, how their body responds to fear in a new an interesting way. We have included Carrol E. Izard’s theory of primary signs of danger and theories about the physiological fear response. Our design concept became a fear simulator, which intends to provoke and measure fear. We tested and evaluated the design with a laboratory experiment at Roskilde University. As a whole, the experiment included a test, a series of interviews and a questionnaire survey. The study showed us that we need to do further research to be sure that we can measure and simulate fear.
