Abstrakt

This research is investigating the process of implementation of an Open Banking innovation in banking sector in Denmark. This innovation is undergoing mandatory adoption imposed by the Revised Payment Services Directive approved by European Parliament in 2015, obligating financial institutions in Europe to conform with newest requirements regulating security and data privacy standards. Through this investigation we want to examine how the process of dissemination of an innovation develops in these particular circumstances and to identify potential dissimilarities or rather specificity of this dissemination. The collected primary and secondary data regarding the adoption is analysed and then obtained findings are interpreted based on the assumptions of the theory of Diffusion of Innovation as well as theory of Disruptive Innovations.
