Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Abstract This paper encompasses a description of an event in Telemarksgade on Amager. Telemarksgade is known for its social problems. Our intention was to create a temporary lift of the area with a focus on tolerance and social solidarity in this cross-cultural community. By cooperating with The Secretariat of the Sundholm area it was possible for us to carry through the event. To make the event attractive for the residents we made use of auditory and visual effects. We have used theories, which have given us an understanding of the ideologies of town planning/city making, to create a temporary lift of the area which was the result we wished for. The structure of the event is based on our theorists’ focus, such as creativity, tolerance and security, which have been generated to create the optimal urban area for the participants. The working process has given us the opportunity to discuss and analyse the event in connection with our theorists’ points of view, which have been incorporated. We are aware of the fact that this event only temporarily has given a change of the area. It can be concluded that our event can contribute to the town lift, which The Secretariat of the Sundholm area is in the process of.
