This study deals with an analysis of the social technological features for artists, in the music streaming service Spotify. The study tries to define, how artists can use social features in Spotify for exposure. We have created an aspect model, which has helped us significantly, on how to locate where our solution to our problem can be found. In the analysis, we have focused on two features; How to create a playlist and how to publish a new release as an artist on Spotify. These features have been further analysed through several dataflow diagrams. Through communication theory from especially De Nye Fans, we have found out that two-way communication is essential for artist exposure, this kind of communication is not available through Spotifys current, social technology.
