This project investigates the possibilities and improvements of the Danish super bike lanes known as the ‘Supercykelstier’. The methods used to find the necessary empirical information utilized to answer the main question are ethnographic, expert interviews and documentation. To analyze upon the aforementioned, we chose to reflect the data in opposition to one-another, and in accordance to stimuli-response theory, which is based on behaviorism. The intention of this is to describe and understand the users of the bike lanes behavior, from which our knowledge from this, together with the interviews and documentations, forms the foundation of the two analysis. The results from the analysis forms the main themes in the discussion, from where we will debate relevant factors of which have an effect on how the ‘supercykelstier’ can be optimized. The conclusion of this project is a critique of the implementations for example accessibility, safety, comfort, intended and unintended factors, user-friendliness and opinions from experts and users of the bike lanes. Furthermore, the municipalities needs to work together when it comes to funding, and we appeal that the Danish state should raise the funding limits for the project.
