Health is an essential part of our culture today. As health has become focal practice, there has been a significant development in the implementation of health initiatives. Is this development beneficial or will new challenges arise for the employers well-being? This thesis utilizes a phenomenological approach and is based on interviews of employees and executives of the health departments in Novo Nordisk and Top Danmark. By comparing our interviews with theoretics we highlight the companies power to inflict its employers understanding of health and how the employees position themselves in a work environment where health practices is incorporated as a part of the existence. The result of this study appears from a clash between health promoting practices and the autonomy of the employers. It occurs that the companies possess an (un)intentional power to lead the employers perceptions and behaviors. The employers are positive towards the health promoting contribution, but at the same time, with the focal point of health a struggle of power can be provoked between social hierarchies in how to practice health.
