In this project we investigate the making of a product, which can make life easier and more productive, specifically but not exclusively, for astronauts onboard the International Space Station ISS. A major hassles on the ISS is the high noise levels, that the astronauts face on a daily basis. This leads to a stressful work environment for the astronauts, and with this can many complications follow.
By simply using in-ear noise reduction products, we would reduce the astronauts ability to communicate. This led us to the conclusion of making a device with build-in communication features, which can solve the noise problem and improve communications at the same time. Our vision is to put together all our features into one device, in order to make it as simple, elegant and easy to use. The features incorporated is a combination of ear protection, alarm system, communication system and active noise cancellation system, all in one product. All these technologies are already present on the ISS, but in separate systems, except for the active noise cancellation. Our products purpose is to obtain overall noise relief combined with a comfortable and effective communication system.
We hope that our design solution will be able to help attain better well-being and work environment.
