Through the TV and other media, many rumors about what a spin-doctor does and the nature of his services have spread. We would like to clarify the function; role and influence the spin-doctor have on Danish politics. We will look specifically at the relationship of power between the Ministers and spin-doctors, and the spin-doctors and media, as some believe that the spin-doctor sometimes will rise to power. We will also take look at the filter function between spin-doctors and media, as it is the main reason for the Minister, hire a spin-doctor. We have chosen secondary qualitative and quantitative empirical data from a thesis which is called ”Nyheder til forhandling". The quantitative empirical data we that have, is derived from a questionnaire and qualitative empirical data is made through 12 interviews. The empirical evidence tells a lot about the internal relations between spin-doctor and the media. Besides, we have a primary qualitative interview with a campaign-manager for a parliamentary candidate by the name Kaare Traberg Smith, and his name is Kristian Snerle. Snerle’s role as campaign-manager also functions as a spin-doctor in himself, and therefore he is relevant to this task. The spin-doctor's role is to put the minister in a good light by using strategies to reduce criticism and to connect to the correct media with favorable stories for the Minister. Therefore, one can say that there is the great power exchange, between the minister and the spin-doctor. The spin-doctor is like a filter, employed by the Minister. Power exchange is greatest between spin-doctor and the Media, as we believe that there is a constant negotiation between the two parties, where they exchange information between each other.
