Studenteropgave: Basisprojekt

This research paper presents a structured report on how the political ideological foundation of the United Kingdom’s coalition government can be seen in the discourse of the social enterprises. The purpose is to identify the ideological tenets behind the social entrepreneurship phenomena, by making use of discourse analysis with regards to both the governmental body and the social enterprises, respectively. This points out to consequences that would occur if discourses were to be institutionalised. We conducted interview in-order to see the correlation between the government’s ideologies and the interviewee’s perceptions on the social enterprise sector. This is a relevant topic as the government’s impositions on the individual’s conduct will inadvertently reproduce the rationality of the state, however since these are always context dependent, it is vital to remain critical towards these taken-for-granted assumptions.
