Departing from the global trend of NGO-ization this dissertation investigates the interconnectedness between social capital and NGO-presence. A research area shed light upon by an empirical social capital study using the most similar case design to compare two local areas marked by respectively high and low NGO-presence. As the study evolves this approach become more open-ended and explorative. The two study areas are situated in the Kapilvastu district in Nepals Terai-region.
