Studenteropgave: Speciale

This thesis is based on the growing market for smartphones and their need for mobile data access. This need also goes beyond borders within the EU. Although the price for data on the home market has decreased considerably in the recent years the price for data abroad has not. This thesis provides an analysis of the current market situation and the players involved. A business idea that is targeting contemporary customers such as foreign visitors is proposed as a possible solution to the increasing demand for data abroad. Potential customers are identified as Danes travelling to Spain who are avoiding using a data connection abroad due to high rates. Methods of analysis include quantitative market research, Porter’s five forces, PEST-model and an economic appraisal of the project and its possible outcome. The industry is found to be highly attractive and the potential clients to be interested in using the product from the business idea indicating that the product will turn out to be a profitable adventure. Furthermore the economic appraisal of the project supports implementing the idea also due to promise of profit.
