Abstrakt

This paper aims to specify what makes a videogame repayable. Using Mihalyi Csikszentmihalyi’s theory of flow, supported by Nick Yee’s Motivations of Online Gaming and the theory of Immersion, we have assessed the elements that contribute to a game’s replay value. Furthermore, we have designed a computer game using the MDA-Framework to structuralize the process, based on our analysis of the game League of Legends, using the GameFlow analysis model, as well as the theories stated above. The game was tested by evaluating which feelings the test group experienced by answering a survey. The results showed that the game was moderately successful in implementing aspects, which causes high replayability.
