Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

This project deals with the extensive problem of chewing gum in the streets of Copenhagen. Every year the local authority spends a large amount of money in removing the gum. The purpose of this project is to redefine the citizens’ understanding of gum from something they do not consider as trash, to actual trash that needs to be put in a trash can. In order to do so, and based on theories about Experience Design, we have created a performance which takes place at Dronning Louises Bro in Copenhagen. By using excessive performative elements to illustrate the gum problem, including a solution to the problem, we want to provoke the people who pass by and make them reflect on this. Furthermore we want to establish an interaction between the passers and the performative elements by engaging them to actively participate, and thereby creating a unique experience that can regulate their behavior towards gum. The project concludes that the performance resulted in such regulation of behavior with the participants of the performance.
