Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Abstrakt

Our motivation for starting this project has been the major impact of the crises that have been hidden by Unions in Denmark and how it is possible for them to get out of this situation. We wish to uncover how relations among members and their Unions can be the way of out of these crises. To examine this, we have taken our basis in the campaign SKÆVT run by the Union 3F. The campaign has been inspired by the organizer theory of Marshall Ganz. Robert D. Putnam’s social capital and John Friedmann’s empowerment process will be used to analyze the outcome of this campaign and to see if there has been a social transformation in Tingbjerg. The conclusion of the project analysis and discussion is that the Unions need a new strategy, where relations are a major focus in order to maintain the reasoning for the trade union’s existence. Furthermore we can conclude that the campaign could have had a larger effect in Tingbjerg and for the people living there, if they had prioritized to invest more resources and time in the campaign.
