The following report investigates recruitment and retention of volunteers in Greenpeace Copenhagen. Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organization that works to secure the greatest possible diversity of life all over the world. Greenpeace has an objective to double the amount of volunteers throughout the Nordic countries during the next three years and this report studies how the organization can improve its recruitment and retention of volunteers. The report concludes that there is a strong sense of community based on shared values among the volunteers and employees and that the monthly volunteer meetings create an understanding of the connection between the cause and the tasks that each single individual carry out. Furthermore, it is concluded that the induction of potential volunteers might create confusion for those concerned, as the induction program does not explain all the different opportunities available to those volunteering within the organization.
