This thesis is about a concept of problem solving journalism for the Danish television stations, TV2-regions, and intended for their new 24-hour channels. The channels are only a year old, and they have quite a potential for new and experimental TV-shows because they have lots of on air hours to fill. In the past few years there have been a huge development within the genre constructive journalism where a lot of different types of journalism have tried to gain ground and mark it selves and change the way we do journalism today. One of the new ways of doing journalism is problem solving journalism. Problem solving journalism is a way of trying to solve problems with the help of the public while generating lots of news stories through several follow-ups. This way of doing journalism is already used on the Danish radio station P4 Fyn and in several regional newspapers but until now no one has attempted to make a concept for television. This thesis is an attempt to make such a concept and at the same time to shows all the aspects and the possibilities that lie within problem solving journalism.
