Through a qualitative analysis of the increasing problem regarding revenge porn, this project addresses the kind of options that are viable for victims of digital violation in the nearest future and points out what can be done for them in the long term. Throughout the qualitative approach of in-depth life interviews as well as studies in literature, international articles and theses on related topics, this research provides insight into the tendencies of the topic specified by two victims of revenge porn. As the science study is founded in philosophical hermeneutic the focus serves to deeply understand the informants own reflections, feelings and thoughts, after they were victimized in the manner of digital violation. The findings shows that it is difficult for the victims to work through the process of being a victim of revenge porn because it influence their behavior online as well as offline. Another important result of the analysis is that the victims coping mechanisms includes support from their surrounding friends and family. Another option to prevent getting exposed to revenge porn could simply be to limit and secure the private informations they store on their digital devices, which could reduce the risk of becoming a victim of revenge porn since the main problem occurs when intimate material is shared online without approval from the exposed person. The study furthermore concludes that the hosts of social media platforms are not held responsible for the material shared through their websites, which also contributes to the problem, because the violators can remain anonymous. If the society recognizes revenge porn as a serious problem and starts to create laws about approval, the problem may become less significant. At last a final option could be to make a design solution which contains a way to provide help to the victims by getting the passive violator to react on the situation.
