This thesis is about political activism and how it is affected by the Danish Anti Terror Law.
For a historical and societal analysis of the constitutional society in Denmark Høilund is
employed to examine whether or not the Anti Terror Law is an indicator of the Law of
Necessity and how this influences our informants and their political activism. Furthermore
Foucault’s theory of discipline and surveillance is employed to investigate how surveillance
and the knowledge herof impact our informants.
The conclusions are that the Anti Terror Law indeed is and indicator of the Law of Necessity
and it has a negative influence on our informants and their exertion of their rights to
assemble and their freedom of speech. The opportunity for the Danish Police Intelligence
Unit to surveil their activities and especially their knowledge of the capabilities of the Danish
Police Intelligence Unit seemed to inhibit the informants. Thereby the informants acted as
their own keeper and through the fear of being punished disciplined themselves.
