This study examines Third Ear’s podcast “Ringbindsattentatet”; a true crime story about the at-tempted murder on Bent Skjold Nielsen back in 1987. We follow the investigation throughout six episodes where we get a deeper understanding of the case through the narrator and the people in-volved. We perceive and analyze the story as a hybrid between a true crime story and a broadcasted narrative. Furthermore, we want to investigate how the use of fact and fiction influences the overall impression of this specific podcast. To do so we will use radio theory, which helps us understand the auditory relationship between Third Ear and the listener. In addition to the cooperation between fact and fiction we seek to understand true crime through the documentary and the fictional crime genre. On this theoretical basis we get a greater understanding and investigation of how “Ring-bindsattentatet” manages to entertain, create suspense and involve the listener throughout the entire story.
