In an effort to better understand the educational structures of the twelfth century, this project roots itself in specific core aspects chosen to epitomize the cultural cultivation of education. Utilizing a dialectic approach coupled with our core aspects, this work aims to highlight and investigate the dichotomy of two noteworthy individuals, Peter Abelard and St. Bernard of Clairvaux. We adumbrate that both of these characters due to their importance, can be employed to get a comprehensive explanation of a commonplace phenomenon.
