This paper examines how a public service organization interacts with its audience, including use of social media. This is examined in order to find out the understanding of participation between the chosen organization and its audience with the intention of relating it to fundamental values of participation
The paper will look into the values of DR and DR3’s audience-segment seen through interviewed informants, and examine whether or not these overlap.
The focal point of the paper is participation, and by looking into the perception of interaction and online activity of the Facebook users we have discovered that the understanding of participation differs for the organization and the audience seen through the informants. In finding an overlapping value, we also found a possible starting point for initiating cross-fertilization.
