Abstrakt

This project examines kindergarten teachers work with culture in the kindergarten Nord, and how they participate in relation hereto. Nord is a vulnerable, multicultural Danish kindergarten, with a big percentage of children whom have difficulties with the Danish language. As an initiative to help stimulate the children's language, Nord has been provided the opportunity to collaborate with Skolehaven. As an outcome of this initiative, the investigation of the project will take place in two locations; the kindergarten and Skolehaven. The project involves three kindergarten teachers, where two of them work in the kindergarten, and the third one in Skolehaven. The analysis draws on critical psychology and its analytical categories, which is used to examine the kindergarten teachers scope of action possibilities and participation in the work with children from different cultures, in Nord. It is claimed that the three kindergarten teachers has different possibilities which influence their work. This project concludes that all three kindergarten teachers relates to culture with different scope of action possibilities and ways of participating.
