Abstrakt

This assignment engages in political use of Facebook with a view to the time surrounding the elections in 2011 and 2015. The research draws upon both articles, statistics, reviews and theory selected to correlate with the chosen subject. An exposition of the possibilities Facebook provides the user is given, as well as an account for some of the technical elements behind Facebook.
The assignment accounts for four chosen politicians way of using Facebook, taking a point of departure in Ervin Goffmans frontstage/backstage theory. Furthermore it contains a review and comparison of 4 chosen articles dealing with the development within usage of Facebook through past years. The assignment shows a remarkable change in the way the ordinary users use Facebook and a significant change in the philosophy behind social media platforms. Furthermore it shows a grand similarity in the way the four chosen politicians use Facebook.
