This project is a sociopsychological company analysis of a telemarketing company. The project is within behavioural economics; it investigates individual behaviour in a workspace with sociological and psychological theories. The project is fundamentally based on two primary theories about panoptism and flow, written by Michel Foucault and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. The structure of the project consists of two analyses and a discussion. The first analysis aims at figuring out whether or not the company’s supervision/training system can be spoken of as a panopticon, and if the system causes the same psychological patterns as in the mentioned theory. The second analysis investigates if the interviewed employees in the company can experience ‘flow’ at the workplace. The two analyses leads to the discussion in which the question “ Does supervision in the company affect the employees’ ability to achieve ‘flow’?” will be examined.
