Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Denmark will in the future experience an imbalance in the demographic development, where there will be a large amount of elderly compared to the working force. This will lead to an insufficient funding of the Danish welfare state. Therefore we want to examine how it is possible, from a state level to make a structural and financial change to overcome the demographic imbalance. We will use Gösta Esping-Andersens theories on the three welfare-state regimes – the universal, the corporative, and the residual welfare-state regime – to analyze which political options for a restructuring of the society and which consequences it will bring. Furthermore we will include which actions and possible solutions have been done in respectively Germany and Great Britain. We will incorporate the Keynesian and the Monetarism theories to analyze the macro- and microeconomic possibilities. At last we will present a number of possible solutions, which will have an interdisciplinary perspective
