10 English Summary This study is based on reflections on our own as well as other project managers’ practice. We find that our own as well as other project managers’ way of managing stakeholders and the specific use of stakeholder analyses as a management tool leave much to be reflected on. The motivation behind the choice of this particular subject matter originates in the realization that our own as well as other project managers’ way of managing stakeholders and using stakeholder analyses as a management tool in practice seems more diverse than the way prescribed in the project management literature, i.e. that stakeholders are not only managed through various strategies and models, but rather that project managers “add and subtract” when it comes to practice. Accordingly, the primary focus of the study is to examine by way of focusing on this “adding” and “subtracting” how to facilitate the becoming61 of other possibilities concerning the way in which project managers manage stakeholders and stakeholder analyses. The problem formulation of the study is in two parts and is as follows: 1) Describe the cracks that appear between the guidelines of theory and the conception of practice concerning stakeholders and stakeholder analyses. 2) Discuss the possibilities of these cracks in connection with the becoming of other forms of management of stakeholders and stakeholder analyses. The first part of the problem formulation is answered specifically through a tripartite Deleuzian analysis framework which conceptually results in the “striated”, the “mixed”, and the “smooth” space respectively. This analysis framework is discussed in the empirical analysis which brings into focus the way in which project managers regard stakeholders and the specific management of stakeholder analyses as opposed to the guidelines of theory, thus making it possible to identify cracks between theory and practice. The study identifies four cracks which are then listed. The second part of the problem formulation is answered specifically through a theoretical discussion starting from a Deleuzian conceptual framework in which the focus is on the Deleuzian 61 According to the Deleuzian universe and framework we use the term becoming. Two of the identified cracks between theory and practice are then linked to the Deleuzian framework of becoming. Hereafter the study discusses the possibilities of the becoming of new approaches to stakeholder management and stakeholder analyses connected with one of the identified cracks. The second part of the problem formulation is then answered. The problem formulation as a whole is answered in the conclusion of the study, and a list is drawn of the new possibilities of stakeholder management and stakeholder analysis which have been identified in the study. Our offer to project managers of a new mind-set is linked to the management of stakeholders. Our offer in connection with stakeholder analysis is linked to classification and prioritization of stakeholders as well as management strategies. Finally an offer of a new mind-set is made to project managers: the nomadic project manager.
